Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in software process and algorithmic design
- Experience with AI orchestration and workflow scripting
- Proficient in programming languages such as C and Python
- Familiarity with OCR tools (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Linux, command-line utilities, or scripting (Python, Bash)
- Understanding of text processing and metadata standards (preferred)
- Experience with vector databases or AI embedding workflows (preferred)
- Familiarity with AI-related programming methods and tools (preferred)
- Keen interest in AI, large language models, or digital humanities (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the creation of high-quality datasets for AI and machine learning applications
- Automate the digitization and preparation of extensive textual content for AI training and research
- Architect digital workflow management by labeling, classifying, and structuring data for storage
- Operate semi-automated pipelines for OCR, metadata extraction, text cleaning, and semantic classification
- Utilize internal tools to prepare data for AI applications
- Curate datasets to ensure accuracy, eliminate duplicates, and verify quality
- Segment books into appropriate chapters, pages, or logical units for vector embedding
- Utilize AI tools to parse textual data into semantic units
- Assist in the loading of processed texts into vector databases
- Verify embedding quality and address ingestion issues
- Maintain organized structured data inventories and documentation
- Oversee scanning of books and documents using professional scanning equipment
- Ensure image quality, alignment, and OCR readability
- Organize and catalog scanned materials per established metadata standards
- Customize OCR methods to recognize unique symbols and typography
Description
We are looking for a software engineer to lead the development of knowledgebase creation and integration with advanced, tailored large language models (LLMs). Our focus is on producing and maintaining high-quality datasets that are crucial for the enhancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. This position involves a mix of document digitization and workflow automation, ensuring a meticulous approach to data curations. We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year, health insurance, and relocation assistance. This role is based on-site.
