Requirements

Must:
- Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in IT, including at least 8 years managing diverse teams. - Bachelors degree required; advanced degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field preferred. - Strategic thinker capable of simplifying complex situations and making informed decisions. - Comfortable navigating organizational change and guiding teams through growth and transformation. - Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative leadership style, capable of balancing strategic vision with hands-on operations. - Experience in nonprofit, cultural, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred. - Proven success in overseeing enterprise systems in similarly sized multi-department settings. - Proficiency in CRM and ticketing systems (e.g., Tessitura, Salesforce, Blackbaud, or equivalent). - Strong expertise in IT operations, cloud environments, data governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. - In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices with demonstrated capability to design and implement relevant policies and risk mitigation strategies. - Experience with threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures. - Knowledgeable in identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication, and endpoint security. - Practical experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM solutions, encryption, and network security architecture. - Familiar with compliance requirements including PCI-DSS, data privacy laws, and protection of payment and donor information. - Empathetic leader who cultivates trust and fosters an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership on digital transformation, data governance, cybersecurity, and relevant technologies for nonprofits and cultural organizations. - Collaborate with the executive team to ensure technology facilitates growth and innovation. - Oversee the maintenance, security, and efficiency of IT systems, networks, and hardware to ensure organizational reliability. - Lead upgrades, cloud migrations, and modernization initiatives to enhance efficiency and eliminate technical debt. - Establish and enforce cybersecurity measures, data protection policies, disaster recovery plans, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS for ticketing and donations, NY privacy laws). - Manage, mentor, and foster a service-oriented culture within the IT department with clear priorities and accountability. - Develop project management frameworks to ensure on-time and successful execution of technology initiatives. - Promote collaboration across departments and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders. - Oversee technology systems that support fundraising, ticket sales, membership, and donor relations (e.g., CRM, ticketing platforms, payment processing). - Ensure smooth integration and data flow between Development, Finance, and Marketing systems. - Work with leadership to enhance donor data practices, reporting, segmentation, and digital fundraising tactics. - Support digital efforts such as online ticket sales, web platforms, mobile solutions, virtual programming, and accessibility tools. - Identify opportunities to improve patron engagement and enhance the customer experience through technology. - Stay abreast of trends in digital user experience, cultural institution technology, and nonprofit enterprise tools. - Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and managed service providers. - Develop and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effective decisions and transparency. - Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and technology acquisitions.
