Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with a preference for Electronics and/or Firmware fields.
- P.Eng. certification is preferred, or candidates should be eligible and motivated to obtain P.Eng. registration.
- Over 10 years of relevant design experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in systems engineering and firmware development.
- Leadership experience is viewed as beneficial.
Responsibilities
- I will gather and analyze system requirements from stakeholders, elicit customer requirements, and author engineering requirements.
- It is my responsibility to assess the feasibility, risk, technology readiness, suitability, and performance of different system components and technologies.
- I will translate business needs into technical specifications and designs, decompose system designs into component solutions, and define complex systems and components that meet specified requirements.
- My role includes creating and documenting system and interface specifications, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- I will implement, integrate, and verify various systems and sub-system components, test and validate system components for effective functionality, troubleshoot integration issues, and optimize system performance for efficiency and maintainability.
- Additionally, I will design and execute tests to verify system functionality and performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices, while also ensuring traceability against system requirements.
- I am expected to develop technical and logistical system development plans, work closely with a multi-discipline team, align cross-functional departments with project goals, identify potential issues and mitigation strategies, and create technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle. I will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

In this role, you will design, implement, analyze, and validate complex systems that encompass mechanical, electronic, firmware, and software components of our products. You will define system requirements, manage these requirements, and ensure that the final product fulfills its intended purpose.
