Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Business, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). - APMP certification or training in best practices for proposal management is advantageous. - 3-5 years of experience in writing, editing, and creating proposals for utility, energy, or infrastructure-related construction services. - Familiarity with utility procurement procedures and evaluation criteria, especially RFPs. - Preferred background in technical writing or journalism. - Knowledge of environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, engineering design, or construction management within the utility sector is beneficial. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. - Experience with proposal management software (e.g., Unanet, Shipley, GovWin, Privia, RFPIO, SharePoint, Loopio) is preferred. - Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; capable of adjusting content for diverse audiences while simplifying technical information into engaging language. - Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and research skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. - Demonstrated adaptability and problem-solving skills. - Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. - Collaborative team player, with the ability to work independently as well.

Responsibilities

- Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs from electric utility companies, cooperatives, and municipalities to determine submission criteria and evaluation standards. - Create, write, edit, and format clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal content, such as project approaches, execution strategies, team qualifications, safety plans, executive summaries, technical sections, and pricing narratives, customized for specific clients in the electrical utility space. - Ensure all documents are formatted correctly, proofread thoroughly, and finalized according to customer specifications and our internal quality benchmarks. - Confirm that all proposals adhere to customer requests, submission protocols, and internal quality expectations. - Monitor proposal timelines, coordinate submission logistics, and support the final production and distribution process. - Lead the proposal development cycle from RFP evaluation to final submission. - Collaborate with engineering, project management, operations, and business development teams to collect technical input and verify content accuracy. - Maintain and periodically update a library of reusable proposal materials, including past performance references, resumes, and project overviews. - Assist in organizing proposal planning events, including kickoff meetings, content outlines, writing assignments, and internal review processes. - Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and customer requirements within the electrical utility and infrastructure sectors. - Communicate proposal status, risks, and challenges to leadership and other stakeholders. - Support proposal presentations and client meetings as required. - Be open to occasional limited travel for off-site meetings, events, or other business needs.
