Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of practical experience in Quality Assurance (QA)
- Minimum of 6 years in database testing
- Proficient in SQL and able to create complex SQL queries
- Familiarity with data testing tools like SQL, MSSQL, and Oracle
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, specifically Synapse Analytics, Apache PySpark, and Spark Notebook
- Medium-level experience in Python coding
- Experience with reporting products
- Background in functional testing of web applications and technologies
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of working with Developers, Product Managers, and Project Managers
- Flexibility to shift between functional, automation, and manual testing as per project requirements
- Additional experience in ETL testing and cloud data migration is a plus
- Business Analyst mindset to assess user experience and provide feedback to Product Managers
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies and implement them effectively
- Familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of various databases to ensure functionality and performance
- Develop and execute complex SQL queries to validate database views, tables, and triggers
- Implement stress testing strategies for databases to assess capabilities and responsiveness
- Collaborate with developers and project managers to ensure all specifications are met
- Contribute to the testing of web applications and related technologies
- Adapt testing approaches based on project needs, including manual and automated testing
- Assist in the evaluation of user experience and make informed recommendations to improve product quality
- Participate in Agile development practices, supporting continuous integration and delivery efforts
Description
We are Neos, a focused team seeking a Software Tester for a contract position with our client located in Austin, Texas. This role is hybrid, requiring candidates to work onsite two days a week, so we prefer applicants who reside in the Austin area. Our ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Quality Assurance and database testing, along with a collaborative mindset to work alongside various stakeholders.
