Cloud Platform Architect

- Lead the architecture and governance of an AWS platform serving the CDAP (pharmacometrics) and BEE (biostats) - Manage multi-environment architecture using Terraform and GitOps practices across DEV, TEST, PROD, and DR environments - Design the platform blueprint encompassing compute, storage, networking, identity management, CI/CD, observability, disaster recovery, and operational readiness - Define the target AWS architecture focusing on VPC design, department isolation through subnets, NACLs, and security groups - Architect Amazon EKS with namespace isolation and Helm-based deployments for various components - Develop AWS PCS (Slurm HPC) for NONMEM workloads, including scaling strategies and integration patterns - Create storage layers with FSx NetApp ONTAP and FSx Lustre for HPC workloads - Establish end-user access architecture utilizing AWS WorkSpaces for desktop environments - Define data services architecture using RDS PostgreSQL and ElastiCache Redis - Design integration for Identity & Access management with Okta SSO, Duo MFA, AWS Managed AD, and RBAC strategies - Set standards for Infrastructure-as-Code, including Terraform module strategies and governance - Define GitOps standards for managing Kubernetes manifests and CI/CD-driven processes - Develop strategies for GitLab platforms and pipeline management to enhance efficiency - Ensure security-by-design principles are implemented, including IAM, logging, and secrets management - Guarantee readiness for regulated operations through change control and validation compliance - Establish an operational model covering monitoring, patching, backup, and disaster recovery procedures - Produce architecture documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, standards, and runbooks - Collaborate with stakeholders to address risks, dependencies, and design choices
