Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. - Practical experience in managing enterprise networks within a production setting. - Proficient in supporting Cisco Catalyst and/or Nexus switching platforms, covering daily operations and troubleshooting tasks. - Ability to plan and implement network device software upgrades and patches, ensuring thorough validation and backup strategies. - Strong diagnostic skills across routing, switching, and common network services (such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and AAA). - Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and data center connectivity in a production environment. - Practical exposure in managing an SD-WAN ecosystem in a live setting. - Familiarity with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity solutions (including VPN Gateway and/or ExpressRoute). - Experience executing controlled changes following ITIL principles, with clear implementation plans and backup protocols. - Proficient in documenting incident reports, RCA summaries, and operational procedures. - Willingness to participate in on-call duties and after-hours maintenance sessions as needed. - Strong collaboration and coordination skills with various teams and vendors across time zones.

Responsibilities

- Monitor network performance and promptly respond to alerts and incidents; assess issues, restore service, and communicate escalations with external providers and internal stakeholders. - Troubleshoot and resolve routing and switching problems (including OSPF/BGP/EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, STP, VLANs, QoS) in both campus and WAN scenarios using logs, telemetry data, and packet captures. - Provide support and troubleshoot issues on Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms, handling port provisioning, VLAN/trunk setups, STP consistency checks, and hardware issues. - Plan and execute software updates and patches for Catalyst and Nexus switches, performing pre-checks, compatibility reviews, and post-implementation validations in accordance with change management protocols. - Manage day-to-day ACI fabric operations (tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts), diagnosing endpoint or contract issues, and assisting with controlled upgrades and changes. - Oversee SD-WAN configurations, including policies, segmentation, DIA, application-aware routing, and failover strategies; address site connectivity and performance concerns and liaise with ISPs for circuit adjustments. - Support Azure networking elements (VNets, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway/ExpressRoute, Private Links, load balancers, DNS) and address hybrid connectivity challenges. - Facilitate and troubleshoot connections from on-premises to Azure (including ExpressRoute/VPN, BGP, routing/propagation, redundancy); verify routes and failovers during incidents or maintenance events. - Execute standard network changes (adds/moves/changes, policy updates, route adjustments, segmentation updates) while adhering to change management processes, complete with backup plans and post-change validations. - Conduct root-cause analysis, document findings, and drive proactive measures (config hardening, process enhancements, monitoring upgrades, and recurring issue resolution). - Sustain accurate network diagrams, runbooks, configuration standards, and knowledge articles; contribute to operational readiness and handover protocols. - Leverage automation and scripting as needed to minimize repetitive tasks (data gathering, configuration checks, report generation) using tools like Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and vendor APIs. - Be available for after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance tasks as necessary.
