Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience - Between 5 to 7 years of experience in security engineering - Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of specific business areas or specializations - Advanced proficiency in application security and software development in one or more programming languages, such as C#, Java, or Python - Familiarity with security tools such as SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, among others - Advanced understanding of industry-standard security frameworks, including OWASP, NIST, and BSIMM - Experience with CICD pipelines, security tool integration, and secure software development lifecycles (SDLC) - Proven ability to work with cross-functional engineering and product teams to scale secure SDLC practices - In-depth knowledge of secure architecture and design patterns for web, mobile, and microservices applications - Strong awareness of current and emerging threats and techniques for exploiting security vulnerabilities - Proficient in methodologies and security testing tools for threat analysis of complex applications and services, including threat modeling, software fuzzing, static and dynamic analysis

Responsibilities

- I will guide the integration of security best practices into product design and engineering efforts as well as software development lifecycles (SDLC) - I will assist development teams with secure code reviews and other assessments to pinpoint security weaknesses and vulnerabilities - I will support and maintain the Secure SDLC standard, including security architecture, design, and coding requirements for infrastructure, applications, and data, aligning with application security maturity models while promoting a shift-left approach for security - I will conduct application security reviews, encompassing code reviews, threat modeling, and both static and dynamic analysis - I will implement automated security controls as part of CICD pipelines - I will identify and create relevant security controls and processes for products and services developed and deployed across Navy Federal in both on-premise and cloud environments - I will establish and uphold secure coding standards and best practices, providing guidance and training to development teams on security measures - I will foster collaborative relationships with team members and subject matter experts - I will lead small projects and initiatives focused on enhancing security
