Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of five years of direct experience leading audits focused on technology infrastructure and information security
- In-depth understanding of IT control practices and risk-based auditing methods
- Comprehensive knowledge of IT Risk, General Controls, technology infrastructure controls, and Information Security best practices
- Proficient in assessing risks within technology and financial systems, especially complex infrastructure environments
- Proven experience as an Auditor-in-Charge for IT/integrated audits with the capacity to independently handle audit planning, execution, and reporting
- Experience managing multiple priorities effectively while contributing to team goals
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of engaging various levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
- Experience collaborating across different departments and fostering partnerships among diverse teams
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively to achieve desirable outcomes
- Strong ability to present findings and information clearly and concisely
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management abilities
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and oversee the most complex and high-risk IT and integrated audits in line with Navy Federal and industry audit standards
- Evaluate Navy Federals technological framework to ensure systems run smoothly, securely, and in compliance with regulations
- Conduct audits of IT systems to ensure confidentiality, availability, and integrity
- Create risk-based audit objectives and test plans to validate compliance with regulations and internal standards
- Serve as Auditor-In-Charge on various audits, guiding and supporting Internal Audit team members on best practices and standards
- Manage multiple audits simultaneously while coaching auditors to apply critical thinking and effective control testing
- Coordinate efforts with contacts and defense teams to conduct research, document processes, identify risks and controls, and gather audit evidence
- Seek opportunities to utilize data analytics and technology for enhanced insights into risks and business operations
- Analyze audit evidence to assess the effectiveness of controls and compliance
- Identify and report issues, providing risk-based recommendations to improve internal controls
- Review audit documentation to ensure thorough analysis and support for audit conclusions
- Collaborate with various departments to offer insights and recommendations for performance improvements
- Partner with business areas to develop and implement effective remediation strategies
- Prepare well-crafted and timely audit reports for senior management and relevant committees
- Mentor auditors and support staff, helping them enhance their processes and documentation practices
- Ensure timely reporting of risks and issues by managing audit timelines and addressing delays
- Engage in Internal Audit strategies as a proponent for innovation and improvement
- Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Monitor industry trends and emerging risks affecting the organization
- Perform additional duties as necessary
