API Systems Engineer (Java)

- Develop and refine Services and APIs employing Java technology for current and upcoming projects - Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise integration services (SOA and API) - Collaborate with development teams, business units, and other ETS divisions to define, create/modify, and implement enterprise reusable Services and APIs - Actively engage in product backlog development by closely working with Business Analyst/Technical Analyst, and API team members - Operate in an agile, fast-paced, entrepreneurial atmosphere with brief release cycles while collaborating with multiple stakeholders - Conduct peer code reviews and offer guidance and direction on development efforts - Partner with the team to formulate and uphold policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and governance processes for SOA and API - Design integration solutions around cloud-native applications functioning across public, private, and hybrid clouds - Create integrations utilizing modern API Management frameworks applicable in both B2B and B2C contexts - Continuously monitor innovations within the financial services technology sector and relay pertinent insights to leadership - Formulate and implement architectural governance based on business and IT strategies - Participate as a subject matter expert on API integrations for enterprise initiatives and projects - Engage in hands-on development of APIs, microservices, and platform proxies as deliverables for enterprise initiatives and projects - Join on-call rotation for emergency technical support and scheduled maintenance tasks - Aid in root cause investigations and offer recommendations - Take part in deployment rotation to supervise implementation and coordinate with associated partner teams
