Requirements

Must:
- Active Secret Clearance preferred - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems - Over 3 years of experience in designing and executing API integrations and backend services in Java - Proficient hands-on development experience with Java and Spring Boot (REST controllers, service layers, security, configuration) - Strong knowledge of SQL: understanding of schema, query optimization, joins, indexing strategies, and performance troubleshooting - Familiar with API documentation and standards: OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON schema, API versioning - Deep understanding of REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON in API development - Experience with service mesh/zero trust patterns, or enterprise API management tools

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices patterns - Implement API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger) alongside versioning strategies, backward compatibility, and deprecation plans - Create integrations for internal platforms (identity, logging, data services) and external partner systems using secure API methodologies (OAuth2/OIDC when applicable) - Develop message transformation, orchestration, and mediation logic (JSON/XML), including canonical models as necessary - Employ resiliency patterns, including retries with backoff, circuit breakers, idempotency, rate limiting, bulkheads, and timeouts - Integrate microservices with Oracle databases utilizing robust data access patterns (JPA/Hibernate) - Compose and optimize SQL queries as well as stored procedures/packages (when relevant), ensuring performance and efficient indexing - Support data mapping, validation rules, referential integrity, and transactional consistency - Establish automated tests: unit, integration, contract, and regression; assist with performance/load testing - Diagnose incidents across environments; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
