Requirements

Must:
- Relevant Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Masters degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD/JD with relevant experience. - Extensive understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. - Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, principles, and procedures. - Strong leadership skills with a proven ability in project management and problem-solving. - Proficiency in various computer software programs. - Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q or TS security clearance, including potential for polygraph examination. - Experience in information security or research document review with at least 8 years of relevant experience preferred. - Capability to provide training on safeguarding CUI or classified information. - Motivated individual with the ability to function both independently and collaboratively within teams. - Strong problem-solving aptitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines. - Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

- Maintain current knowledge of federal OPSEC, CUI, and classification policies and regulations. - Oversee the ongoing implementation and monitoring of the CUI program, including policy reviews and updates. - Collaborate with other CUI specialists to develop and incorporate CUI management strategies into the organizations information protection framework. - Assist OPSEC and CMPC programs alongside INFOSEC assurance analysts. - Provide strategic guidance, risk management, and program oversight. - Mentor team members to ensure compliance with established requirements and procedures. - Manage misuse determination, resolution, and reporting of CUI documentation. - Conduct internal reviews and audits for adherence to security standards. - Revise and enhance existing training content regarding CUI protection. - Offer guidance on proper labeling and handling of sensitive materials. - Support training for both new and current NLR personnel. - Analyze data to establish appropriate classification controls for NLR initiatives. - Address security-related challenges that affect organizational objectives. - Review sensitive information upon request to safeguard classified data. - Ensure accurate labeling of CUI documents. - Participate in investigating security-related incidents. - Foster collaboration with stakeholders including Legal, IT, and Program Management to ensure CUI compliance. - Establish productive relationships with DOE and NLR leadership to align security objectives with operational goals. - Prepare and update laboratory procedures, training content, and internal SOPs. - Advocate for a culture rooted in safety, respect, accountability, and professionalism. - Undertake additional duties as required by management.
