Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience - Strong grasp of software development principles and experience with object-oriented programming - Minimum of three years of experience in CI/CD automation and software integration, including: - Experience with container technologies and orchestration - Practical experience in constructing scalable systems - Proven background in developing software applications - Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, C++, Java - Familiarity with version control systems and testing methodologies - Ability to debug and profile software systems - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Experience collaborating on large applications within a distributed team

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain robust, automated CI/CD pipelines for ngVLA computing systems throughout the observing lifecycle - Integrate continuous integration practices, including automated builds, testing, and static code analysis for early issue identification - Develop and oversee continuous delivery pipelines to automate software deployment across various environments - Ensure CI/CD pipelines are reliable, scalable, and efficient to facilitate frequent software releases - Incorporate security scanning and compliance checks within the CI/CD framework - Maintain GitHub Enterprise organization and services, including various self-hosted runners - Collaborate with development teams to understand integration points and dependencies - Facilitate integration of software components, resolve compatibility issues, and ensure interoperability - Implement and manage integration testing frameworks to validate comprehensive functionality - Coordinate with the Technical Infrastructure team to guarantee proper resources for deployments - Advocate for containerization technologies for consistent software version management - Develop strategies for containerizing ngVLA software to ensure uniform deployment - Manage container registries and implement effective versioning for software releases - Contribute to the Observatory-wide CI/CD platform and establish best practices - Identify automation opportunities across development and deployment processes - Evaluate and implement suitable CI/CD and infrastructure as code tools - Develop scripts and utilities to facilitate CI/CD operations - Collaborate and share knowledge with software developers and operations staff
