Deputy Chief Information Officer, IT Leadership

- Lead the transformation of IT operating models, service delivery, and technical capabilities. - Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with scientific and organizational goals. - Drive standardization, automation, and process improvement initiatives. - Advise leadership on technology strategy, risk factors, and investment opportunities. - Oversee multisite infrastructure, including networks, observatory connectivity, data centers, cloud services, computing, and storage solutions. - Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and security across all technology platforms. - Manage end-user services including service desks, endpoint engineering, and collaboration tools to enhance service quality and user experience. - Oversee high-performance computing (HPC), GPU/compute resources, and scientific storage platforms, including external capability evaluations as needed. - Align infrastructure and service delivery with data-intensive scientific workflows, both internally and externally. - Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices such as Service Level Objectives (SLOs), incident management, and continuous improvement. - Enhance observability, automation, and overall operational efficiency. - Mentor and develop a high-performing IT organization, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. - Manage budgets, capital investments, and large-scale initiatives. - Oversee vendor relations and support long-term planning efforts.
