Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Over 3 years of experience in systems administration roles
- Must possess and maintain an IT II level certification in accordance with AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification per DoD 8570.01-M
- Training in Juniper, Cisco, CWNA, or BCNE
- Active DoD security clearance required
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Oversee all components of the Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Operations Manager (SCOM) Enterprise Management Systems, encompassing SCCM Infrastructure, Admin console, Software/Hardware Inventory, Software Distribution, SCOM Infrastructure, and Monitoring
- Design, test, and implement upgrades and enhancements for the current SCCM and SCOM environment
- Build new or rebuild existing servers, configuring hardware, services, storage, and settings as per standards and operational objectives
- Install and configure systems to support GIS infrastructure or Asset Management applications
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration documentation
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of system standards
- Research and recommend innovative, automated solutions for system administration tasks, identifying efficient resource management strategies
- Conduct daily system monitoring to ensure hardware and server functionality and review system/application logs
- Provide Tier II support and troubleshoot issues based on various requests
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating communication with affected parties
- Regularly apply OS patches and upgrades, configuring new services as required
- Maintain and document operational and configuration procedures
- Conduct periodic performance assessments to inform capacity planning
- Perform continuous performance tuning and resource optimization as necessary, configuring CPU, memory, and disk partitions accordingly
- Execute additional tasks as assigned
