Requirements
Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience in supporting Congressional affairs, legislative analysis, or government relations within a Department of Defense, Air Force, or federal environment
- In-depth understanding of Congressional procedures, defense oversight tasks, and legislative coordination protocols
- Acquainted with the Department of the Air Forces acquisition programs, policies, and organizational framework
- Proven history of preparing briefing materials, reports, and formal communications for senior officials
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret legislative text, policy guidelines, and program-related data
- Competence in coordinating across various organizations, program offices, and leadership
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple Congressional assignments effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication proficiency
- Experience in a fast-paced headquarters or legislative affairs setting
- Capability to manage sensitive information with professional discretion
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the coordination and development of responses to Congressional Requests for Information (RFIs), Questions for the Record (QFRs), and correspondence connected to Department of the Air Force services
- Aid in the compilation of Congressional briefing documents, hearing preparation kits, and leadership talking points
- Monitor and manage Congressional taskers, deadlines, and response timelines to assure prompt submission of necessary information
- Collaborate with SAF/SQ leadership, SAF/LL, program offices, and other headquarters entities to gather and aggregate program data for Congressional replies
- Examine legislative provisions, committee reports, and policy language influencing Air Force and Space Force acquisition initiatives
- Support the creation of briefings, reports, and position papers pertinent to Congressional oversight and legislative obligations
- Maintain documentation and tracking systems for Congressional inquiries, correspondence, and response progress
- Aid in drafting executive summaries and updates for leadership concerning Congressional endeavors impacting SAF/SQ priorities
- Keep abreast of developments within Congressional committees and defense legislation relevant to Department of the Air Force initiatives
- Provide coordination assistance for meetings, briefings, and interactions involving Congressional staff and Department of the Air Force leadership
