Requirements
Must:
- 1-3 years of relevant engineering experience (recent graduates are welcome to apply).
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, environmental, or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution is essential.
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts, design methodologies, and technical documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or related tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed is preferable.
- Previous internship, co-op, or Department of Defense/Army engineering experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of Army facilities management regulations (AR 420-1) and Military Construction (MILCON) procedures is favorable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management applications is valuable.
- Experience with or knowledge of Department of Defense facilities, construction management, or Army installation management is a plus.
- Previous military service in an engineering Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Army real property management systems like GFEBS or ePRISMS is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering assistance to the USASMDC G-4 Facilities and Engineering Division while collaborating with senior engineers.
- Aid in carrying out engineering assessments, technical evaluations, site analyses, and design reviews for USASMDC facilities and infrastructure initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation of engineering documents, specifications, drawings, cost projections, and technical reports.
- Assist in the evaluation of contractor submissions, construction plans, and as-built documents to ensure adherence to relevant standards and Army regulations.
- Support lifecycle management for USASMDC real property assets by monitoring repairs, upgrades, and replacement timelines.
- Communicate with project stakeholders to collect information, monitor project progress, and facilitate the production of engineering deliverables.
- Maintain organized engineering project records, databases, and tracking systems for facility maintenance and construction endeavors.
- Help senior engineers in preparing presentations, technical papers, and correspondence for government clients.
- Assist with coordinating environmental compliance and NEPA-related engineering efforts at USASMDC sites.
- Participate in site inspections and field visits to evaluate facility conditions and aid in project development.
- Apply engineering principles in civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural domains to assigned projects.
- Research engineering codes, and standards (e.g., UFC, ASHRAE, NEC, IBC), along with Army regulations to inform technical choices.
- Keep digital project documentation and support engineering databases and tracking systems.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by senior technical personnel and government representatives.
