Requirements

Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance - Experience in support of DoW, Air Force, or Space Force headquarters, especially in acquisition, policy, or legislative affairs - Knowledge of DoW acquisition processes, major defense acquisition programs (MDAPs), and the Defense Acquisition System - Familiarity with Congressional processes and legislative analysis, including engagement with committees such as HASC, SASC, HAC-D, and SAC-D - Proven ability to prepare high-level briefings, reports, and correspondence for senior government officials and Congressional stakeholders - Strong analytical capabilities to synthesize technical program data, budget information, and policy guidance into concise outputs - Experience coordinating among multiple organizations, program offices, and senior stakeholders in complex environments - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating complex acquisition topics to non-technical audiences - Strong organizational abilities and task management skills to handle numerous concurrent Congressional requests and deadlines - Experience in analyzing defense policy and legislative language to inform leadership decision-making - Bachelors degree in political science, Public Policy, National Security Studies, Aerospace Engineering, Business or Public Administration, International Relations, or Defense Studies - Masters degree in relevant fields such as public policy, public administration, or defense acquisition management is preferred

Responsibilities

- Provide subject matter expertise and analytical assistance to SAF/SQ regarding Congressional inquiries, legislative oversight, and acquisition program integration - Analyze and coordinate responses to Congressional Requests for Information (RFIs), Questions for the Record (QFRs), and related correspondence - Develop and manage briefing materials, executive summaries, and preparation packages for Congressional meetings for senior Department officials - Integrate technical, programmatic, and budget data from multiple sources to support accurate Congressional responses - Review and assess National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provisions and legislative language affecting acquisition initiatives - Collaborate across SAF/SQ, SAF/AQ, SAF/LL, Space Systems Command, and other stakeholders to ensure response alignment with Department policy - Track and manage Congressional tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely and precise information submission - Aid in the development of program summaries, issue papers, and decision briefs related to acquisition efforts - Offer recommendations to senior leadership regarding legislative impacts and program oversight trends - Stay informed on Congressional committee priorities and developments affecting Air Force and Space Force initiatives
