Requirements
Must:
We seek an individual who holds an MSEE/MSCE, preferably a PhD, or possesses equivalent experience related to power and performance estimation and optimization methodologies. You should have more than 5 years of experience, along with a strong understanding of energy-efficient chip and system design principles and the associated trade-offs. Familiarity with low power design techniques such as multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, and dynamic voltage-frequency scaling (DVFS) is necessary. A deeper comprehension of processors (GPU knowledge is a plus), servers, and system software architectures, as well as their performance and power modeling techniques, is essential. Additionally, you should have familiarity with Python and silicon data analysis, as well as performance monitors or simulators used in contemporary processor architectures. Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities and a passion for teamwork are also vital.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Datacenter GPU Power Architect, you will be instrumental in developing flows, methodologies, KPIs, and power estimation models/tools for GPU products and systems, such as NVIDIA DGX/HGX-based datacenters. Your role will involve early GPU and system architecture exploration, emphasizing energy efficiency and total cost of ownership improvements at both GPU and datacenter levels. You will establish power targets for upcoming projects, monitor ASIC milestones, and steer performance versus power analysis to guide crucial product roadmap decisions. Deploying machine learning techniques, you will create highly accurate power and performance models for our GPUs, CPUs, switches, and platforms. It will be essential for you to comprehend the workload characteristics for GenAI/HPC workloads on a datacenter scale to inspire new hardware/software features for performance per watt enhancements. You will also engage in pre-silicon thermal analysis for next-generation GPUs, including the design of thermal use cases, creating power maps for thermal simulations, and driving thermal mitigation architectural features. Furthermore, you will model and analyze cutting-edge technologies such as chiplets and high-speed, high-density interconnects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, VLSI, software engineers, management, and marketing teams, will be crucial as you influence the product roadmap.
