Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an information technology-related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of eight years of relevant experience; ten or more years preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Client and Server operating systems, VOIP, virtualization, and network infrastructure hardware
- Management experience is mandatory
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer or similar network administration certification required
- Strong ability to train, supervise, and evaluate staff
- Proficient decision-making, management, and leadership skills
- Experience budgeting and resource allocation
- Ability to oversee complex projects
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Familiarity with industry best practices and specialized software applicable to the role
- Adaptable to changing work situations and priorities
- Effective communication skills to present complex ideas to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems
- Comprehensive understanding of IT security related to networking, data, and internet including disaster recovery
Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and manage all operational functions of the IT department
- Supervise and evaluate employee performance, prioritize tasks, and ensure adherence to policies
- Direct department activities, including project planning, administration, and evaluation of compliance with legal standards
- Address the ongoing IT requirements of Housing New Mexico staff and programs
- Manage software application development and installation processes
- Analyze and enhance technology solutions for more efficient workflows
- Oversee department budget and auditing activities
- Maintain and execute hardware replacement plans
- Develop and implement system security, availability, and disaster recovery procedures
- Facilitate security awareness training and update employees
- Provide solutions in response to vulnerability and penetration testing
- Prepare and manage the department budget for operational needs
- Provide support and training for all IT-related devices
- Conduct network administration and troubleshoot issues
- Participate in strategic initiatives and committee activities
- Comply with safety regulations and protocols
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
