Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or comparable networking certification.
- At least 6 years of experience serving as an Enterprise Network Engineer with a solid foundation in Cisco networking technologies.
- Proven capability in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise campus and data center environments.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and address complex L1/L2/L3 network issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, working effectively across engineering, operations, data centers, and with clients.
- Demonstrated dedication to ongoing learning and staying updated on industry standards, architectures, and best practices.
- Willingness to travel within the hospital system; full-time, on-site position requiring 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- In-depth expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, including VLANs, VRFs, Multicast (PIM/IGMP), HSRP/VRRP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and various Spanning Tree protocols (RSTP/MST).
- Experience in upgrading, deploying, configuring, and providing support for Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Routers, and Meraki cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in wireless technologies, including troubleshooting and deployment practices.
- Familiarity with network management and monitoring solutions, including SNMP-based tools like SolarWinds, Cisco Catalyst Center, and LogicMonitor for performance oversight, alerting, and capacity planning.
- Assist in creating network designs for environments ranging from small to large scale.
- Practical experience with Enterprise Campus and Data Center architectures.
- Generate technical documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, operational runbooks, and network diagrams.
- Deliver Tier II/III support and lead root-cause analysis and problem management for Cisco and Meraki platforms.
- Provide daily operational networking support, encompassing monitoring, troubleshooting, change implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and solve network issues both on-site and remotely.
