Requirements
Must:
- U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. drivers license are mandatory.
- Bachelors degree in network administration, computer technology, information technology, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a relevant bachelors degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience without a degree or irrelevant degree.
- Experience should be in computer technology or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IP networks supporting a large client base.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Cisco products and IOS.
- Ability to operate in a 24/7 production setting on an on-call rotational basis.
Responsibilities
- Configure and manage network patch panels and handle cable management.
- Troubleshoot PC, data center, and network connectivity issues.
- Test cables, oversee network health, and pinpoint issues with speed, duplex, or protocol mismatches.
- Use graphical or command line management interfaces to adjust configurations such as IP routes and VLANs, while monitoring device performance and traffic.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of network maps and data spreadsheets utilizing Visio and Excel.
- Liaise with clients and the team regarding solutions for network performance issues and assist in problem resolution.
- Function as a network administrator, which includes the installation, configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting of SDN/ACI, LAN, and WAN components including routers, hubs, switches, monitors, and Wi-Fi systems.
- Create and assess network maps while monitoring connectivity disruptions across various protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, and others.
- Log, track, respond to, and update incidents, changes, and tasks within the enterprise work tracking systems.
- Provide operational and maintenance support, including 24x7 production support on a rotation basis, and offer on-call and backup support as needed.
- Identify the necessity for upgrades or enhancements to network components in response to issues or performance degradation.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and utilities regarding product information and installations.
- Draft How To documents and establish desk procedures for troubleshooting and operational duties related to network administration, recommending adjustments as required.
- Organize and maintain documentation, filing systems, and records in adherence to compliance standards.
