Requirements
Must:
- AS/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering, potentially combined with certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
- Minimum of 5 years of mid-level and/or enterprise experience as a Network Engineer in a dynamic environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of network hardware and infrastructure
- Experience in configuring, supporting, and maintaining routing and switching devices, enterprise Wi-Fi, VPNs, controllers, and network firewalls in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco/Palo Alto/Aruba)
- Strong understanding of internet fundamentals, including DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, and Email Routing
- Proficient in Local Area and Wide Area Networking and associated components
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols: TCP, UDP, VoIP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, IPSec VPN, and MPLS
- Experience with 802.1x and configuring/troubleshooting routing and switching protocols such as BGP and MPLS
- Familiarity with physical infrastructure design including structured and fiber-optic cabling
- Excellent judgement, analytical skills, and task prioritization abilities
- Comfortable handling medium to large project scopes with ambiguous details
- Professional experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and IT ticketing systems
- Background in data center network implementations and support is advantageous
- Knowledge of data center power/cooling infrastructure and operational best practices
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Willingness to travel as required
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, design, develop, test, implement, support, maintain, and document network infrastructure and IT environment
- Ensure overall network and system availability
- Mentor and provide leadership support to junior team members
- Design system configurations and direct system installations while documenting and enforcing standards
- Implement and manage WAN network across Lease lines, MPLS, VPNs, and DMVPN
- Administer and troubleshoot network devices, including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers
- Identify opportunities for improvement and focus on redundancy, operational efficiency, and simplicity
- Schedule and execute maintenance tasks, including upgrades and migrations, for production networks
- Enforce network security policies and monitor access
- Collaborate on disaster recovery operations and perform data backups when required
- Participate in ad hoc projects and assist in various tasks as requested by management
- Provide on-call support as needed
