Requirements
Must:
- Capable of safely lifting and moving at least 50 pounds
- Prepared to be on feet for the majority of the working day
- Proficient in both written and spoken English
- Must provide personal transportation to various work locations
- Available to respond to any on-call requests within one hour
- Competent in updating asset management information as needed, using scanners
- Effectively utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) workflow systems
- Familiar with using and troubleshooting various Linux operating systems
- Able to configure, troubleshoot, and navigate network hardware command line interfaces
- Skilled in managing the lifecycle of servers, switches, routers, storage, and other hardware
- Understand proper cable management, including power, Cat6, and fiber optics
- Strong communication skills essential for documenting tickets and communicating with customers and team members
- Highly adaptable with a strong inclination towards multitasking
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Strong organizational skills required
- Good interpersonal skills for teamwork
- Effective time management skills with a focus on achieving targets
- Willingness to work collaboratively as well as on individual projects
- Capable of operating material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, if certified
- Familiarity with O365 software is a plus
- Quick to learn new systems, methodologies, and technologies including software and hardware
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily data center support operations, such as server and network hardware installations
- Manage copper and fiber-optic cabling tasks
- Perform layer 1 troubleshooting and IT asset management
- Monitor and address hardware and software issues using industry-standard ticketing systems
- Provide timely, clear, and appropriate communications to customers
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety and security policies
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed
- Engage actively in the change management process, including monitoring production and preventative maintenance activities
- Document processes and updates in accordance with organizational standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and quantity of work meets expectations
