Data Center Technical Lead

- Oversee daily operations and management of staff, including technicians - Approve timecards - Coach and mentor team members to achieve excellent results and high performance - Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with employees to provide performance feedback and carry out annual reviews - Enforce the disciplinary process related to performance issues - Explain operational performance results regarding metrics and KPIs - Provide insights and suggestions to enhance operational performance and efficiency - Screen and schedule temporary labor resources for short-term projects - Evaluate technical skills and team fit of candidates, collaborating with the recruiting team for hiring - Assist in onboarding and training new hires - Collaborate with Data Center Leads in other locations to promote teamwork - Ensure local execution of key deliverables and metrics - Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by management - Utilize Metas ticketing system and adhere to SLAs to support server health - Serve as the first point of contact for IC4 technicians - Conduct root cause analysis on complex technical challenges and drive resolution - Handle hardware installation, rack and stack tasks, cabling, integration, provisioning, and decommissioning - Assist with projects and repairs throughout the data center - Debug hardware, Linux, and Windows OS issues using command-line tools - Execute turn-up/turn-down processes with support from ISOS - Analyze data to identify systemic issues - Provide support across multiple Bay Area locations including Santa Clara, Burlingame, Sunnyvale, and Newark - Work with internal and vendor teams to resolve complex technical problems and maintain hardware quality - Identify and develop documentation for the global data center knowledge base - Contribute to process improvements and best practices in operations - Participate in on-call rotation (once a month for a week after hours) - Ensure efficient operation of hardware test labs within production/non-production environments - Manage device/system configuration - Develop global standards for processes, workflows, and automation roadmaps to facilitate efficient management of server hardware - Communicate cross-functionally with other technical operations teams - Perform other tasks as needed to support IT services locally
