Requirements

Must:
- I require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline, along with three years of pertinent experience in application development and large-scale project management; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree supplemented by training coupled with five years of applicable experience. - A minimum of three years of experience offering system analysis and programming support to Ellucian Banner or a comparable ERP system is essential. - Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, C, and UNIX-based development environments is necessary. - Experience in scripting and programming languages such as Java, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, Bash, Perl, PowerShell, and Groovy is important. - Familiarity with web development platforms and tools, including Omni CMS, Visual Studio, and SQL Server, is required. - Proven project management capabilities with experience supervising full project lifecycles are expected. - Experience with at least one reporting/analytics tool (for example, Argos, Tableau, Toad, or Oracle SQL Developer) is needed. - Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Azure is vital. - I seek strong leadership, planning, supervisory, and organizational abilities. - The ability to manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, and effectively supervise staff is essential. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the capacity to build collaborative relationships across diverse groups, are crucial. - A commitment to confidentiality and ethical data management is expected. - Demonstrated experience with equity-minded practices and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities is desired.

Responsibilities

- I will lead the planning, execution, and assessment of projects concerning enterprise applications, ensuring that timelines, scope, and deliverables are met. - Defining tasks, allocating resources, managing risks, and providing status updates to stakeholders and the Director of IT Applications will be part of my duties. - Quality assurance, process improvements, and managing project changes as needed will be part of my role. - Evaluating outcomes and integrating lessons learned into future initiatives will be important. - I will offer technical leadership for enterprise applications, system integrations, and custom development efforts. - Leading the implementation and support of enterprise-wide administrative and student information systems and their integration with other platforms will be a focus. - I will support development in various programming environments and oversee web services and database services development. - Collaborating with consultants and vendors on upgrades, patches, and new software implementations will be key to my role. - Participating in cross-functional committees on data governance and addressing compliance issues is critical. - I will supervise Programmers/Analysts and Systems Analysts, managing responsibilities per College policies and applicable laws, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and addressing employee concerns. - Providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for staff while fostering a collaborative team culture aligned with our institutional values will be necessary.

As the Assistant Director of IT Applications at Middlesex Community College, I am a hands-on technology leader who coordinates the planning, implementation, integration, and support of enterprise applications, databases, and information systems. I am responsible for computing support across vital administrative and academic functions, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with our institutional goals. I actively maintain a project list and communicate status updates with user constituencies, playing a crucial role in strategic planning for the Technology Center. Middlesex Community College (MCC), established in 1970, offers affordable educational opportunities that prepare individuals for success and lifelong learning. The role is based at our Lowell campus, with occasional travel to Bedford as needed, and a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours with eligibility for telework as per our policy.
