Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, C#, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, or Python - OR equivalent experience. - Ability to meet Microsofts, customers, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check. - Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience in relevant programming languages - OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 8+ years of relevant technical engineering experience - 4+ years of experience in designing, implementing, delivering, and deploying large-scale solutions. - 4+ years of experience with C/C++, Rust, C# or similar languages, including conducting code reviews and inspections. - Understanding of security vulnerabilities and mitigations across various platforms, applications, or services. - Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. - Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, such as Git, CI/CD, testing, and monitoring. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a knack for problem-solving and tolerating ambiguity. - Eagerness to learn new technologies and skills. - Customer-focused with a strong desire to enhance engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

- Identify and discover new security issues within your scope, including through the Secure Future Initiative; quickly adapt to new threats and solutions autonomously; gather information for context; decompose tasks for teamwork; pinpoint gaps in current or new solutions and creatively drive systematic solutions. - Design, develop, and implement solutions for specific security challenges; identify and execute high-impact projects involving collaboration across different teams; establish relevant policies and procedures while balancing business and technical concerns; set success benchmarks; prioritize initiatives; create virtual teams to tackle broader problems, and review implementation quality. - Facilitate relationships among groups to clarify priorities and dependencies, ensuring coordination; advocate for vital issues and solutions to stakeholders and management; autonomously coordinate efforts across various teams; develop broadly applicable solutions and mentor peers in best practices. - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish user requirements for particular scenarios. - Direct the recognition of dependencies and create design documentation for products, applications, services, or platforms. - Lead by example and coach peers to create adaptable and maintainable code utilized across products. - Utilize cross-product feature expertise to guide project managers in synchronizing project and release plans among multiple groups. - Assume responsibility as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding engineers in various products and solutions. - Actively seek new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends and technologies that enhance product availability, efficiency, observability, and performance, while promoting consistency in monitoring and operations at scale, sharing insights with the engineering team.
