Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline - Minimum of 4 years of technical engineering experience in coding with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python - Proven ability to undergo Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements - Over 4 years of substantial hands-on experience in developing cloud-scale services is preferred - Expertise in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C#, Java) with knowledge of runtime internals (4+ years) - At least 2 years of operational experience managing services in major cloud environments like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform - Demonstrated technical leadership experience, promoting a culture focused on data and results while collaborating with cross-functional teams (2+ years)

Responsibilities

- Create and execute code for large-scale distributed service architectures - Develop code that is both extensible and maintainable, utilizing modern coding patterns and practices like generative AI and organized source code - Acquire understanding of robust coding principles regarding diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability - Identify and escalate development blockers or unknowns, clearly communicating their potential impacts on timelines - Adhere to established procedures to ensure high standards of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility, assisting with compliance by verifying evidential features - Stay informed about compliance expectations and the implications of new technologies on global and local regulations - Utilize debugging tools, testing methodologies, logs, and telemetry to proactively address issues in production features, and conduct post-incident analyses to discern root causes - Implement least-access principles in investigations while ensuring privacy and security protocols are upheld - Experiment with design options for product features, articulating strengths and weaknesses under managerial guidance, and create code to test concepts - Assist in developing design documentation based on simple user stories with supervision, while remaining aware of current technology trends - Gain knowledge of performance, scalability, resiliency, and compliance requirements in systems architecture, working to uphold Microsoft standards in these areas - Recognize and build upon existing solutions developed by others - Contribute to the enhancement and integration of feedback into product features to inform engineering choices
