Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline with at least 6 years of industry experience or in a research and development environment - Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience or in a research and development setting - Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience in industry or research, which can include postdoctoral work - Equivalent experience in relevant fields may be considered - Proven ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements - Experience with AI applications to enhance research and manufacturing processes - Skill in designing AI tools for experiment management, data logging, reporting, and knowledge retrieval - Knowledge of statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles - Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics - Deep understanding of superconducting and semiconductor physics, as well as solid-state chemistry - Proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Matlab) within a version-controlled environment - Experience with interactive dashboard creation for analytical purposes (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) - Background in semiconductor processing techniques, including lithography and thin film deposition - Awareness of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and their application in production tracking - Strong data analysis skills with ability to develop clear, data-driven problem statements

Responsibilities

- Perform in-depth analyses of device performance over varying temperature ranges utilizing statistical and exploratory methodologies to derive insights from data - Create scripts and applications to convert experimental findings into actionable strategies for enhancing yield and aligning with our roadmap - Design and develop test structures and methodologies to verify sophisticated design criteria and extract essential parameters for superconducting devices and their interconnections - Team up with design and system engineers to set performance benchmarks, troubleshoot circuit-level issues, and enhance manufacturability - Update and maintain Product Development Kits (PDKs) and documentation to ensure cohesion among hardware teams and availability of design resources - Collaborate with process development engineers to define problem statements, hypothesize solutions, and resolve yield-related challenges - Promote and embody our organizational culture and values
