Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field AND 6+ years of industry or research experience
- OR Masters Degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field AND 4+ years of industry or research experience
- OR Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or a related field AND 1+ years of industry or research experience (postdoctoral work included)
- OR equivalent experience
- Experience with industry-standard or customized chip and circuit design/layout tools
- Familiarity with RF integrated-circuit simulation tools such as Ansys, Sigrity, or Comsol
- Ability to meet Microsoft and governmental security screening requirements
- Capability to thrive in an AI-first environment utilizing modern AI tools
- Competence in designing AI agents/co-pilots for experimental setup, log management, and knowledge retrieval
Responsibilities
- Design and layout Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) chips and their interfaces for control and readout layers using simulation-driven workflows
- Conduct RF simulations on QPU chips and interface layers to establish design criteria and enhance performance
- Collaborate with fabrication, systems, packaging, and control teams to co-design QPUs while integrating required constraints
- Develop and sustain design tools, turning functional devices into models and facilitating co-design with internal and external teams
- Leverage integrated circuit design principles to refine design processes and propose enhancements
