Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with foundational knowledge of computer hardware and components along with 2+ years experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role.
- Associates degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent work experience, plus 5+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology is preferred.
- 2+ years experience in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 datacenter environment is preferred.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit proficiency and offer guidance on standard procedures for the preparation, installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning of IT datacenter technologies.
- Provide assistance and direction to fellow technicians regarding changes to processes and workflows, while effectively communicating necessary information.
- Efficiently complete assigned tasks aligned with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing support to less experienced team members as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Data Center policies and procedures, escalating compliance-related issues to management promptly.
- Collaborate with technician teams across shifts to foster a positive work environment and effectively share progress and best practices.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Mentor junior technicians through on-the-job training while maintaining awareness of performance indicators for personal development.
- Execute tasks with an emphasis on security and compliance, escalating any significant risks to management immediately.
