Requirements
Must:
- Masters Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience in security or a similar domain, OR
- Bachelors Degree in the same fields with at least 2 years of experience in security or a related field, OR
- Equivalent practical experience
- Established public record of significant security research, particularly in vulnerability discovery
- Proven experience in exploiting bugs and circumventing security barriers in operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows architecture
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering or a security-related role
- At least 1 year of experience identifying vulnerabilities in operating systems and/or native applications (C/C++)
Responsibilities
- Engage in security reviews to pinpoint and reduce risks in Microsoft products, including design and code assessments, as well as fuzz testing
- Serve as the security liaison for teams developing innovative products and technologies for the upcoming versions of Windows, Azure, and virtualization technologies
- Detect security vulnerabilities across critical operating system features such as network protocols, security protocols, and Microsoft devices
- Utilize broad and contemporary security knowledge to create new protection strategies
- Demonstrate the capacity to acquire new skills and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with product teams to enhance security and convey the business importance of security investments
Description
We are the Microsoft Offensive Research & Security Engineering (MORSE) team, dedicated to securing Microsoft products. Our responsibilities encompass protecting Microsofts operating systems, including Windows and cloud computing solutions, which support the requirements of over one billion users globally. We conduct security design evaluations, code assessments, and vulnerability research to ensure compliance with the highest security standards. Our engineering team develops mitigation strategies, secures operating systems, builds scalable bug detection frameworks, and enhances developer tools while exploring cutting-edge research capabilities. We are looking for a dynamic engineer passionate about keeping Microsoft customers safe.
