Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with 6+ years of engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python, or equivalent experience. - Ability to meet Microsofts security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check which must be passed upon hire and every two years thereafter. - Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field alongside 8+ years of engineering experience with languages like C, C++, or Python, or a Bachelors with 12+ years of equivalent experience. - A PhD in Computer Science or a related field plus 4+ years of engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, or Python. - Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and executing large-scale AI workloads. - Over 4 years of experience in technical design, problem-solving, and debugging.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage inference performance for OpenAI LLMs on various hardware platforms including NVIDIA, AMD, and Microsoft silicon, while benchmarking, optimizing, and monitoring extensive production workloads. - Conduct thorough performance investigations across software, frameworks, and hardware to identify bottlenecks, establish lasting optimizations, and maintain system integrity. - Develop and enhance AI tools that facilitate insights, streamline pipelines, enable prompt model and hardware integration, and minimize operational complexity. - Drive efficiency improvements and reduce resource footprint, aiding Azure AI capital expenditure targets and shaping future infrastructure design through joint software-hardware strategies. - Offer technical leadership and influence by collaborating with research, hardware, and production teams, demonstrating exceptional judgment, autonomy, and execution in alignment with Microsofts culture and values.
