Principal Quantum Engineer - Systems Physics

- Develop systems-level frameworks for diagnosing and optimizing multi-component quantum systems, focusing on interactions, emerging error sources, and disorder effects - Design and evaluate computational benchmarks with known clean-limit solutions to quantify and reduce effective local random fields and correlated-error phenomena in practical scenarios - Transform insights from interacting-qubit physics into actionable corrective protocols and architectural guidance for next-gen topological quantum processors, collaborating with theorists and materials scientists - Guide the interpretation of advanced materials and device measurements, including morphology, chemistry, and electronic states of multilayer quantum-device structures - Collaborate with internal and external teams to plan measurement campaigns at metrology facilities and integrate findings into feedback loops for device fabrication and hardware design - Identify and propose innovative characterization methods to illuminate failure modes or performance issues in quantum-device systems while ensuring alignment with internal metrology teams - Support exploratory research related to future-generation readout and control schemes, optimizing time-scales tied to topological-device readout under realistic conditions; work with quantum-electronics, photonics, and cryogenic-engineering teams
