Software Engineering Manager - Defense

- Provide leadership and guidance for a team of Software and Systems Engineers, including disciplines like Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, System Safety, Cybersecurity, and Reliability - Manage full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors, while forecasting future staffing needs and addressing potential workforce shortfalls - Promote the development and engagement of Software and Systems Engineers and mentor team members for technical growth and career advancement - Enforce best practices for Software Engineering activities, including software architecture, development, and requirements engineering - Facilitate the adoption and implementation of Agile methodologies and tools - Drive process enhancements and monitor quality compliance for software outputs - Oversee Systems Engineering tasks, ensuring excellence in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with a focus on SysML modeling and tools - Manage requirements development, decomposition, and analysis to guarantee alignment with customer expectations - Define system architecture and ensure integration with program requirements across technical domains - Plan Verification and Validation (V&V) to ensure alignment with customer deliverables - Ensure compliance with System Safety, Cybersecurity, and Systems Reliability standards - Review and provide high-quality system-level and software-level artifacts to stakeholders - Monitor team and program performance by analyzing quality metrics for Software and Systems teams
