Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree
- At least 5 years of experience in Java development and backend engineering, ideally 7-10+ years
- Ecommerce background is a significant advantage
- Proficiency in Java and at least one additional backend or frontend programming language
- Experience in enhancing legacy codebases
- Knowledge of automated testing practices
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Expertise in CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Strong communication skills, emphasizing collaboration
Responsibilities
- Act as the in-house expert for backend architecture, establishing and enforcing standards
- Enhance the quality of internal software by modernizing legacy components
- Ensure reliability and performance by identifying bugs and enhancing user experience
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers through exemplary leadership and sharing of best practices
- Collaborate with various teams, primarily product and design, to clarify and execute requirements
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members during code reviews and joint problem-solving across multiple time zones
