Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 5 years, ideally 7-10+ years of Java development and backend engineering experience
- Experience in eCommerce is a significant advantage
- Proficient in Java with knowledge of at least one other backend and frontend programming language
- Skilled in enhancing legacy codebases
- Familiar with automated testing practices
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Excellent communication skills due to a focus on teamwork
Responsibilities
- Act as the internal expert on backend architecture, establishing and enforcing standards
- Enhance the quality of our internal software by modernizing outdated components
- Manage reliability and performance by detecting bugs and issues, while improving user experience
- Mentor junior engineers, setting a strong example and sharing best practices
- Collaborate with various teams, particularly product and design, to clarify and successfully execute requirements
- Be an effective communicator and collaborator, engaging in code reviews and collective problem-solving across multiple time zones
