Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering roles
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficient in design and programming of PLCs for automated testing
- Experience with eDAQ data acquisition systems
- Knowledge of servo-hydraulic test equipment and dynos
- Experience in testing and constructing fluid power systems
- Proficient in CREO (Pro-E)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Scag product development team to assess and validate new products through field and laboratory testing
- Partner with product cost engineers to test and evaluate alternative components and designs
- Allocate 10-20% of time to the software/electrical aspects of testing
- Create and implement test plans to verify performance and operation of products during their development and lifecycle
- Conduct relevant safety tests in compliance with industry standards (ANSI, OPEI, CPSC, etc.)
- Collect, analyze, and interpret field test data using specialized data acquisition hardware and software
- Document and summarize findings from field tests and laboratory tests in written reports
- Maintain an organized database for tracking validation efforts and test outcomes
- Propose solutions to enhance reliability and reduce future system and component failures
- Design, set up, monitor, and analyze automated lab tests to simulate forces and motions using empirical data from finite element analysis and field measurements
