Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Security
- Over 8 years of experience in Security or Software Engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on technical management in security engineering or security software engineering in product-driven environments
- Demonstrated success in supporting security research, engineering, or other technical teams
- Proven experience in collaborating across organizational boundaries to achieve company-wide impact
- Familiarity with leading and managing complex cross-functional programs
- Experience in designing systems for responding to external and insider threats
- Knowledge of operating systems, file systems, and memory structures across Windows, MacOS, and Linux
- Proficiency in scripting with an interpreted programming language (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
- Understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures alongside detection strategies
- Comprehensive knowledge across security, systems design, offensive security, and detection engineering domains
Responsibilities
- Shape and align the organizations vision and strategy, involving your team to develop and implement specific, multi-year roadmaps, programs, and projects. Ensure effective prioritization, resource allocation, and timely delivery in a dynamic business landscape
- Assess the impact of your team and set clear expectations and objectives
- Collaborate with leadership to influence and drive organizational design, contributions, and prioritization
- Engage in technical design and strategic discussions
- Lead and nurture engineering practices to sustain a high-performance team
- Embed security in a constantly evolving environment where flexibility and creative solutions are essential
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional partners to enable efficient execution of project work
- Recruit, develop, and establish a high-performing team to fulfill the teams mission
- Collaborate with teams in Product Management, Data Science, and Data Engineering to design and refine metrics and goals related to attack enumeration, detection coverage, and validation
Description
At Meta, our security team serves as the core engine driving data and system security, collaborating across all areas of the organization—from corporate infrastructure to production and external services. We are in search of a Security Engineering Manager to lead teams dedicated to threat modeling, TTP identification, and detection engineering, safeguarding Metas surfaces. This role involves supporting a proficient group of security engineers working alongside Software Engineers and Offensive Security Engineers, as we identify critical assets, evaluate risks, and analyze potential attack vectors against Meta systems. You will work alongside engineering teams responsible for Metas Corporate, Cloud, and Production systems, impacting over 3.2 billion daily active users by facilitating detection and response automation using industry-standard and custom platforms. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $177,000 to $251,000 per year, along with bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
