Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, General Engineering, or a related field - Over 5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within distribution, warehousing, or supply chain operations - Proven ability to independently tackle complex technical and operational challenges - Strong analytical capabilities with a background in data analysis, hypothesis testing, and performance assessment - Masters degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline (preferred) - In-depth experience with WMS (preferably Manhattan), Labor Management Systems, and operational analytics (preferred) - Advanced skill in Excel, SQL, and data visualization or BI tools (preferred) - Experience in distribution center, slotting, or productivity engineering (preferred) - Background in supporting multi-site or network-level endeavors (preferred) - Open to traveling up to 25% of the time to facilitate branch initiatives and go-lives - Capable of working in a warehouse setting, including prolonged periods of standing and walking when onsite

Responsibilities

- Oversee medium to large-scale productivity enhancement projects affecting Tier 1 and Tier 2 KPIs such as Lines Per Hour (LPH), cost per unit, service levels, travel distance, and labor efficiency - Conduct in-depth engineering and analytical assessments to identify performance deficiencies, validate theories, and quantify areas for improvement across labor, processes, and system drivers - Create variance analysis and root-cause attribution frameworks to elucidate changes in productivity and standard hours - Drive slotting initiatives for case and repack operations at both branch and network levels, viewing slotting as an ongoing optimization task - Evaluate customer and order profiles, velocity, and changes in business mix to propose slotting strategies that reduce travel distance, enhance forward pick %, and boost replenishment efficiency - Monitor post-implementation KPIs to confirm that predicted labor savings are achieved and maintained - Offer specialized engineering support for Warehouse Management System (WMS) execution, bridging Operations, IT, and Engineering teams - Examine and enhance pick paths, work logic, parameters, and configurations to increase execution efficiency and diminish non-value-added labor - Assist in validating operational changes to ensure that solutions are ready for execution, beyond simply being technically accurate - Collaborate directly with Distribution Center leadership to transform analytics and engineering insights into practical execution plans - Facilitate KPI evaluations, performance diagnostics, and PDCA-based enhancement strategies at the branch level - Deliver training and assistance to bolster execution consistency and reinforce adherence to standard procedures on the shop floor - Aid high-complexity new business and automation go-lives where execution risks are significant - Spearhead slotting readiness, labor modeling, capacity validation, and volume stress-testing initiatives - Support post-go-live stabilization through KPI monitoring, root-cause evaluations, and corrective action proposals - Head multiple initiatives concurrently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong ownership and engineering judgment - Offer ongoing mentorship and technical expertise to Engineer I and Engineer II team members - Act as a reliable cross-functional collaborator with Operations, IT, BI, and Project Engineering teams
