Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Over 8 years of experience in IT, particularly in data security, governance, or risk/compliance roles
- Proven capability in designing and managing data access controls and governance frameworks within large organizations
- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure data and security services
- Knowledge of SOX controls, audit processes, and data platform access reviews
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Power BI) security and governance models (preferred)
- Familiarity with Azure data services like ADLS, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (preferred)
- Hands-on experience securing Power BI workspaces, datasets, semantic models, and reports (preferred)
- Exposure to SAP HANA and analytics data from SAP ERP systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with Tableau and SAP BusinessObjects (preferred)
- Experience with data cataloging, lineage, and governance tools (preferred)
- Relevant certifications in Azure Security, Data Governance, Privacy, or Compliance (AZ-500, SC-400) (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Define and uphold the enterprise data security governance framework, including policies, standards, and control requirements
- Manage data classification, labeling, retention, and protection standards across both structured and unstructured data
- Guarantee consistent implementation of governance controls across cloud, on-premises, and SaaS platforms
- Ensure compliance with essential regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX, HIPAA where pertinent)
- Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, and Risk teams on data protection evaluations and audits
- Identify data security vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies with clear accountability and timelines
- Establish and maintain a scalable governance operational model, including intake, exception handling, and enforcement processes
- Create metrics and reports to evaluate data security posture, control efficiency, and compliance status
- Provide leadership for incident governance in data-related security occurrences
- Serve as the main accountability point for data security governance throughout the enterprise
- Encourage senior leaders and application owners to adopt secure-by-design data practices
- Offer guidance, training, and awareness regarding data security obligations
