Software Engineer - Backend Developer

- Develop essential product features within existing large-scale React applications and new strategic initiatives to enhance system efficiencies and performance measurement. - Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and launching. - Collaborate on the development and analysis of business and functional requirements for proposed software solutions. - Take part in architectural discussions regarding product direction. - Focus on frontend components while developing features. - Implement changes to systems that enhance performance and resiliency while minimizing operational overhead. - Oversee the delivery of specific components of a system or application. - Work closely with a geographically diverse team of engineers to determine the optimal technical design and methodology for new product development. - Build software solutions where the problem is not clearly defined, designing interactions between component pieces. - Maintain and enforce technologies, standards, and software engineering practices, mentoring a distributed team of developers. - Contribute to the development teams focus and effectiveness by tracking issues to resolution and providing updates to the team lead. - Identify long-term architectural challenges within the project. - Conduct design and code reviews across multiple projects. - Generate data for project planning, including task breakdown and project work estimations. Competently develop precise estimates and risk assessments, tracking project status as needed. - Communicate project and team status to the project manager and director. - Occasionally step into the Team Lead role. - Serve as the designated subject matter expert for owned application areas. - Engage in the continuous improvement of our development procedures by identifying opportunities and implementing improvements.
