As a candidate for the CAM Software Engineer position, we seek individuals with the following qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the capability to present to small to mid-sized groups.
- A fundamental understanding of mechanical blueprints, CAD/CAM programming, and ideally, two years of experience operating CNC machines.
- Familiarity with Solidworks.
- The ability to work independently and without supervision, both onsite at our facility and at customer locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
Responsibilities
In the role of CAM Software Engineer within our Applications department, you will:
- Serve as a software specialist for Mazak TubeDX and Mazak Smart System, providing both operational and technical support to our customers and sales team.
- Conduct training classes on TubeDX and Smart System at our facility and at customer sites.
- Offer customer phone support as needed.
- Deliver software demonstrations for customer visits and trade shows.
- Execute time studies for potential new clients.
Description
This is a full-time position based in our office, requiring occasional overtime, and you will report to the Software Supervisor. We prefer candidates with a two-year technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Lasers, Electronics, Robotics, Manufacturing, or a related field. A four-year degree in an engineering or science discipline is advantageous. Additionally, a minimum of two years of hands-on experience with CNC-controlled manufacturing equipment is essential, preferably with lasers. Our position offers a pay starting at $30.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package, such as 401(k), dental and health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance, and a referral program, among others. The work schedule consists of 8-hour shifts during the day from Monday to Friday, with potential opportunities for overtime. Please note that this is an in-person role.
