Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree with 7+ years of relevant technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership, or - Associates degree with 9 years of relevant experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership, or - High School diploma/GED with 11 years of relevant experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Advanced knowledge in a specialized field, applying expertise to complex projects. - Minimum 3 years of leadership experience. - Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance. - Certification in cloud engineering required within 12-24 months after hiring. - Proven strategic communication skills, especially in aligning technical strategies with business objectives. - Expert-level knowledge of large-scale Linux environments, HPC and GPU-accelerated platforms, and associated storage systems. - Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration patterns.

Responsibilities

- Provide architectural leadership and strategic guidance in the evolution of hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. - Define and develop modern infrastructure architectures for scalable GPU-accelerated environments and advanced model training. - Collaborate with diverse teams, including engineering, research, cybersecurity, and finance, to create architectural roadmaps. - Ensure solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise standards. - Offer architectural oversight to engineering teams and maintain adherence to best practices. - Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions to address evolving needs in research and clinical computing. - Navigate the complexities of a transforming organizational structure while stabilizing technical design processes. - Advocate for users and mentor teams to support sustainable growth.
