Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution - Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience - In-depth understanding of code development cycles and emerging firmware technologies - Proficiency with signal processing, system modeling, and data analytics in environments like Python, MATLAB, and Mathematica - Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g., power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) - Experience with embedded IDEs and C programming language - Knowledge of embedded architectures and serial communication protocols - Strong firmware development and debugging skills - Capability to create tests based on descriptions or functional requirements - Proficient in documenting test plans, execution, and results - Effective communicator of technical details to team members - Ability to adapt and apply technical knowledge to complex engineering tasks - Up-to-date knowledge of developments in the technical field relevant to current projects Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with ARM Cortex M4 core and debugging serial communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI) - Experience with Python for testing purposes - Knowledge of version control software like Git - Background in RF communication testing and verification - Experience in multithreaded RTOS environments - Interest in physiological signals such as photoplethysmography and electrocardiograms - Ability to document programming, debugging, testing, and verification instructions - Understanding of embedded coding standards and application thereof - Participation in code and design reviews - Quick analytical skills for debugging pathways - Proficiency in debugging embedded systems in real-time - Experience using debuggers to set breakpoints, monitor variables, and analyze RTOS mechanisms

Responsibilities

- Lead small project teams or provide technical guidance on larger project teams - Oversee code management systems and git revision control - Manage firmware documentation and ensure adherence to test-driven design philosophies - Implement continuous integration and deployment practices - Conduct development and testing of embedded software systems - Perform hardware testing and verification - Manage feature timelines, release cycles, and corresponding release notes - Specialize in real-time systems and ultra-low power portable systems - Implement embedded C-code solutions across various architectures - Engage in limited travel as required
