Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (related Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- 7 years of experience in the related field.
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship required due to agency and contract requirements.
- Must reside within a commutable distance from Colorado Springs, CO.
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required.
- Proven experience as a VMware Engineer or similar role, with expertise in designing and managing VMware vSphere environments.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere features and capabilities, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies for virtualized environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A team player who is a fast learner and can work proactively and independently to support mission-critical operations across geographically diverse locations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement VMware vSphere virtualization solutions, which include server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components.
- Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots.
- Implement and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, such as access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation.
- Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
