Must:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - Due to Federal requirements, only U.S. citizens may be considered for this position. - An active Secret clearance is required. - A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - A minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field is necessary. - Proven experience as a DB2 DBA, with expertise in managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments is essential. - Proficiency in DB2 utilities, including but not limited to: Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, Reorg, Quiesce, Report, Modify and Restore, BMC Reorg, and CA Log Analyzer. - We value team players who are fast learners with the ability to work proactively and independently to support mission-critical operations across geographically diverse locations. - This position requires on-site presence five days per week at a government facility, and candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Annapolis Junction, Maryland. - Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required.

Responsibilities

As a valued member of our team, your key responsibilities will include: - Administering and maintaining DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management. - Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as necessary. - Implementing and maintaining database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms. - Conducting database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements. - Developing and maintaining database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity. - Collaborating with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance. - Staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DB2 database administration, and recommending their adoption as appropriate. - Creating and maintaining documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
