Requirements

Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. - At least 4 years of experience with multi-axis VMC/HMC machining, inclusive of machine setup and programming. - Solid understanding of workholding principles, clamping mechanics, and the implications of material type and thickness. - Practical knowledge of cutting tool design, application, and performance. - Hands-on familiarity with various tooling designs and machining applications. - Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar (preferred). - Strong spatial reasoning skills with the capacity to visualize in both 2D and 3D. - Excellent math skills related to force, tolerances, and metric/inch conversions. - Capability to read and interpret blueprints. - Basic knowledge of GD&T. - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online research tools. - Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. - Bonus: Fluency in a foreign language, particularly Spanish, Japanese, or French. - Bonus: Advanced knowledge in Press Brake or Punch Press Tooling. - Ability to work on-site at our Anoka, Minnesota headquarters five days per week.

Responsibilities

- Assess customer applications by examining their machining and/or forming environments, including HMC, VMC, 5-axis setups, usable workspace, table layouts, and press brakes. - Evaluate key machining factors such as material type, removal rate, clamping method, and part dimensions. - Engage directly with customers to grasp their manufacturing challenges across various machining and metal forming processes. - Generate engineering concept drawings, sketches, and 3D CAD models to propose recommended workholding solutions, and with training, press brake applications. - Prepare formal quotations, establishing pricing and lead times utilizing our business systems. - Collaborate with the sales team to offer both pre-sale and post-sale technical support. - Acquire knowledge in press brake tooling and forming applications through structured training and practical experience. - Utilize strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve customer challenges extending beyond typical workholding, venturing into adjacent products. - Provide outstanding technical support that reflects our commitment to customer satisfaction. - Advise on solutions based on comprehensive product and process knowledge to enhance customer outcomes. - Work collaboratively with teammates, showcasing responsiveness, openness, and support. - Embody our values through reliability, sound judgment, honesty, and accountability. - Foster a respectful, communication-driven work environment. - Perform any additional duties as assigned.
