Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong curiosity and eagerness for automation, new technologies, and scalable architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills along with strong communication and ownership abilities.
- Interest in working with large-scale distributed systems design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Capable of collaborating in diverse, geographically distributed teams.
- Ability to balance long-term system health with immediate problem resolution.
- Experience in CI/CD tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef is essential; proven ability to design and implement effective CI/CD processes is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends, as necessitated by team schedules.
Responsibilities
- Encourage developer ownership and empower teams to create resilient, fault-tolerant, and scalable products.
- Assist developers during the build stage by providing operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring support.
- Set and uphold operational standards while cultivating an agile, learning-oriented environment.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analyses focusing on business impact and conducting blameless post-mortems.
- Engage proactively in the development lifecycle to efficiently manage production and change activities.
- Drive risk management, compliance, and mitigation efforts across various environments.
- Align product and customer priorities with operational requirements through continuous feedback.
- Champion the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into advanced environments through validation and operational gating, and lead in DevOps practices and automation.
- Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless post-mortems.
- Approach problem-solving comprehensively, connecting various aspects of technology during production events to minimize recovery time.
- Collaborate with a global team across different technical hubs and time zones.
- Share expertise and mentor junior team members.
