Requirements
Must:
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or comparable practical experience.
- Strong desire to automate processes and explore new technologies and scalable architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Interest in large-scale distributed systems design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to collaborate in diverse, matrix-based teams across different locations.
- Balance focus on long-term system health with immediate fixes.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with a solid understanding of system behavior and monitoring requirements.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef, with experience in creating effective CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is preferred.
- Availability to work shifts and weekends based on team schedules.
Responsibilities
- Promote developer ownership and enable teams to create resilient, fault-tolerant, and scalable products.
- Assist developers during the build phase with operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
- Define and uphold operational standards while nurturing an agile, learning-driven environment.
- Guide triage and root-cause analysis with an emphasis on business consequences and blameless post-mortems.
- Engage early in the development process to proactively oversee production and change activities.
- Manage risks, compliance, and risk mitigation across various environments.
- Align priorities of products and customers with operational demands through ongoing feedback.
- Support the CI/CD pipeline for transitioning software into higher environments, validating operational gating, and spearheading DevOps automation and best practices.
- Implement sustainable incident response and blameless post-mortems.
- Take an integrated approach to problem-solving during production events across multiple technology stacks to enhance recovery times.
- Collaborate with a global team across various tech hubs and time zones.
- Share expertise and mentor junior team members.
